So the LGS has been working on getting Battlefoam stuff in. The thing is they need an initial order of $500, WHOLESALE price mind you, to do that order. Found that out like last week.

What I found out this week is that subsequent Battlefoam orders after that $500 Wholesale order, also has a minimum amount that must be ordered, PER order, before they ship it out. It's only $150....wholesale. that's closer to about $200 or so retail.

So basically, as an example: My current situation is that $500 wholesale price (which is closer to $700 retail) has to be attained before I can get my $45 Foam Tray order. If I were to order later Then to get my $45 Foam order, $155 more of product must be purchased before I get it.

My solution: Fuck Battlefoam. I'm ordering the damn Sabol cases. I'll end up saving $55 and all I'm losing out on is width space on foam. $48 (including tax) for 3 foam trays.....or $59 for 3 foam trays and 1 army transport. I was looking at a Battlefoam case to get as well for $55....so for an extra $11 I'll be getting the case.

Baaaaah on Battlefoam in retail then!

Should just carry a big canister of liquid packaging foam.

But the cases are sooo nice.

Battlefoam's sales model doesn't take small shops into account. Ideally the shop would be in a position to buy the whole line and not have to special order anything.

The cases are amazing. I have nothing but good things to say about the product. The problem I have is their practices. The idea that they want game stores to carry their line in this way is.....ludicrous. Gaming is already such a niche market, and with Battlefoam itself targeting a niche within a niche, so to speak.

How many HUGE gaming stores are there in the US, really, that could afford their entire line? I know of two offhand in Maelstrom Games...which is a UK based store so that's right out....There's the GW Bunker in St. Louis....wait, GW would never carry Battlefoam....
Course there's probably one in a lot of the major cities in the US I don't know about, but you're talking about a hobby that is notoriously hard for stores catering to it to turn REAL profit.

I live in a MAJOR city and we have 1 shitty store outside of New Orleans.  The next Nearest store is about an hour drive up North to Baton Rouge.  I say Shitty in the fact that it's small, and in Kenner next to a bar.  And let's be honest it's other location was in a better neighborhood.

Ahh, yeah I've been there. They seemed to be in a bad way as far as that goes.
