I read the article. It looks pretty easy to make. The only thing that worries me is that the whole sink will get really hot and boil the water (unless the fire bricks dissipate the heat that well. I don't know). You could always just do it with a single basin sink and then just quench in a bucket of water like the normal way. That might be cheaper.
